Fiji were drawn into Pool A—the so-called “Pool of Death”—alongside England, Australia, Wales, and Uruguay. They finished fourth in the group, picking up a win against Uruguay but falling short against the three tier-one nations despite pushing them all with strong performances.
The squad included standout players like Nemani Nadolo, who provided power and goalkicking from the wing. Leone Nakarawa was a dominant force in the second row, earning global recognition for his offloading and work rate. Ben Volavola guided the backline from fly-half, and captain Akapusi Qera led from the loose forward trio.
