This is a very rare jersey from the Brisbane Poinsettias, the historic representative side for Rugby League Brisbane.
Founded in 1907, this legendary team brought together the city's finest A-Grade talent. In 1932, they debuted their iconic look at The Gabba: a white jersey featuring red stripes and Brisbane's official floral emblem, the poinsettia, stitched over the heart.
For decades, "Combined Brisbane" was a powerhouse, spearheading the fierce Bulimba Cup tri-series rivalry against Ipswich and Toowoomba.
They regularly packed out stadiums for blockbuster international clashes against touring Great Britain, New Zealand, and French sides. While the top-tier competition evolved when the Broncos arrived in 1988, the Poinsettias tradition lives on today in the SEQ Chair’s Challenge. It’s the ultimate find for any vintage footy collector or Brisbane purist.
#12 on the back. May well be match worn, but I cannot 100% verify this. Australian made and a proper piece of grassroots league memorabilia.
