Description: This is a special jersey, #9 from the regional representative rugby league side from the Nelson & Marlborough area, Tasman Orcas in the NZRL.
The Orcas have had a great history including holding the Rugby League Cup in 2000 after a win over Hornby and a famous win over the touring Russian national side in 2004. I remember the Orcas travelling down to Wingham Park in Greymouth to play the West Coast Chargers when I was a kid, I'm fairly certain I was a ballboy in a game or two.
Now it has #9 on the back, and I can't imagine there were many 'retail' versions of this made (if any), so it may well be match-worn or belonging to the playing group.
A great piece for fans and RL collectors alike. You'll also recognise the similarity in design to the 1997 Auckland Blues jersey!
