By 1998, Scotland were deep into the Five Nations era under Jim Telfer and Ian McGeechan's guidance. The late 90s saw Gregor Townsend pulling the strings at fly-half, bringing a flair and unpredictability that lit up Murrayfield and made Scotland genuinely dangerous on their day.
Pringle of Scotland continued as the SRU's official supplier through this period, and their jerseys from the late 90s remain some of the cleanest designs in Scottish rugby history. John Leslie and Gary Armstrong were key figures in this squad.
