This jacket comes from the final season of the standalone St George Dragons before the joint venture with Illawarra. Made by VIVID, it features bold red and white colour blocking, with the classic dragon crest embroidered on the chest.
The 1998 season marked the end of an era. Anthony Mundine, Nathan Brown, and Trent Barrett were all key names in the squad, with Mark Coyne leading as captain. The team made the finals and delivered strong performances before bowing out in the semi-finals.
This jacket is a piece of rugby league history. It represents the last run of one of the game’s foundation clubs before the birth of St George Illawarra.
