From the early Adidas era in Dunedin, this jersey comes from a period when the Highlanders were developing the talent that would go on to define Otago rugby. Jeff Wilson was still involved at the franchise, while the likes of Byron Kelleher and Anton Oliver anchored the forward pack.
Adidas produced the Highlanders' gear during the early 2000s before the switch to Canterbury, and clean examples from this era are becoming harder to find in the wild.
