The design is a fresh take on the mountains that border the Canterbury region. It strikes a chord with mee as a Christchurch-local, seeing the Southern Alps most days on my drive to work. Here's an exerpt from the Crusaders website:
"Weaved into our latest jersey design are six peaks and rivers, honouring our fans and players from across the upper South Island
Aoraki Mt Cook stands tall as the highest point, guarding our people, our team, our home. This is not one mountain, or one region, this is a mountain range. A landscape. Similarly, our rivers flow from the mountains to the sea with unstoppable force, a symbol of the strength of our on-field."
I must say this design looks twice as nice in person, when compared to the CAD renderings! My favourite features are the "Mā pango, Mā whero" embroidered under the logo and the elasticated underarms make it so so comfortable.
There are a limited number available, only 5 Ls & 5 XLs. This is an experiment for BV and I'm curious to see if vintage gans will trust this small business with their loyalty over the big boys like Rebel & Stirling. If you do, please buy one! Or if I don't have your size, please shoot me a message and I will keep it in mind if and when I reorder.
Note: I didn't order Women's or Children's sizes (as this isn't my target audience) but let me know if you'd like them, as I certainly will if demand is there!
