The early 2000s Highlanders were led by a quality group of Southern men. Anton Oliver captained the forwards while Jeff Wilson, Tony Brown and Andrew Mehrtens (in his later years) ran the backline. The 2003 squad pushed hard in Super 12 and continued to build the Highlanders' identity as a club that punched above its weight.
Ford's sponsorship of the Highlanders through the Adidas era produced some clean designs, and this Climalite jersey was a step into the modern polyester age for the franchise.
